Grade 1 Students wrote: "Practice counting backwards from 20-0" in their agendas. Grade 2 students wrote: "Practice skip counting by 2, 5, 10"

Grade 1's brought home their French Body Parts Flashcards

This morning the school participated to our weekly assembly.

We talked about the Remand center/inner city bags that they decorated on Friday. We discussed what it means to be imprisoned (Many students indicated that the imprisoned are those ‘in prison’ for having broken the law.) We also talked about our corporal acts of mercy: "Visit the imprisoned", and how when we visit, when we serve, when we reach out in some way to the ‘imprisoned’, we are not only doing the work of Christ, but we are serving Christ. I will respect the choice you made for where to send your child's bag.

The class participated to Calendar time, following this, Grade 2's were urged to finish their French writing. Grade 1's finished writing about themselves from head to toe.

In mathematics, the class had the opportunity to learn about estimating.

The class enjoyed music with Mme Dominique.

This afternoon, grade 1's enjoyed gym.

Grade 2's re-visited the word: isolant. (An object that keeps something cold or hot). We re-visited how polar bears, and seals have a certain isolant: fat. We then completed a little science experiment with fat and cold water! Grade 2's then began to plan what they would need to make an isolant to keep an ice-cube frozen.

Grade 2's participated to Mme Ferre's ZONES lesson (please see the e-mail I sent you)

Grade 1's began to learn about feelings, we talked about all of the different kinds of feelings, and how taking care of our feelings helps us take care of ourselves.

The class ended their day by starting to make their own self-portrait.
