Grade 1 Students wrote: "Practice new French flashcards" in their agendas. Grade 2 students wrote: "Ask me about my science project." in their agendas.
This morning the class participated to our calendar message. Following this, we had a class discussion about the cleanliness of the boot-room/lockers (because now we have boots, and snow gear taking up a lot of room). We reviewed HRTS for the bootroom, and also talked about how everything has a place and we must respect that place.
Grade 1's did a French reading activity. Grade 2's finished writing about their monsters, and began to plan and build their ice cube cooler.
After small recess, we talked about estimating, and how before you estimate you should say the word: "environ" (about) so that people know you are guessing.
We talked about how it's easier to estimate if you can have something to refer to to know what the approximate amount is. The class practiced estimating.
Grade 2's then did a work page practicing estimating, and also creating groups of ten.
Grade 1's practice creating numbers in more than one way.
The class enjoyed "shopping" at the library.
This afternoon we finished our self-portraits, we got new Words of the week that focus on the ou/ow combo and we did our afternoon message.
