This morning students wrote: "No school tomorrow." in their agendas.
Grade 1 and 2 students were very good this morning about speaking in French the second they stepped foot in the school! A few got caught speaking English, however they corrected themselves very quickly... How wonderful!
After finishing in our agendas, the class completed a round of French daily 5. It's always nice to see grade 1 and 2 students reading to one another! We decoded and read our morning message about having no school tomorrow, then one of our grade 2 students lead us through the calendar document. We read a French winter themed book.
Grade 1's were then asked to complete the reading activity they began yesterday, and then they started a descriptive writing activity about the little man they dressed on Tuesday.
Grade 2's finished writing about the tradition they would like to participate to in Meteghan, and then they worked on their French spelling words.
After little recess and snack, we practiced math word problems. The class used double sided chips and ten grids to represent the story Students then answered a few math word problems in their math books.
We continued to learn about how Jesus and God want us to live in peace, and how a peace garden can help us to live in this way.
This afternoon, the class completed a round of daily 5, and we practiced finding little words in big words in our afternoon message.
Students enjoyed gym with Mme Harding
We ended our day continuing to use descriptive (juicy) words to write about an object.
