This morning's agenda message was "Have a great weekend!" Please get some rest... there is a nasty cold rolling around.

This morning, students practiced their sentence starters "Je vois" and "Voici" orally, by describing objects in books and in the classroom. We added our school words dictionnary page to our French dictionnary. Grade 2's highlighted all the sounds they recognized from last year, grade 1's found the words they didn't know.We also took pictures outside for our birthday board. We used this time to practice putting our birth DAY in number order (This proved to be quite difficult) Please practice counting with your child in French to help with this in the future :)

We had a small class discussion about the school recess agreement (playing in kind ways), we will dive deeper into understanding this next week.

After little recess, we listened to our H (Honesty song) R (Responsibility song) T (Tolerance Song) S (Safety Song) and we listened to our final three presentations.

We learnt about attributes to patterns (particularly color and size). Grade 2 students created their own pattern with two attributes. Grade 1 students made patterns following a code.

The class enjoyed some games in the gym (octobus, everybody tag)

This afternoon we practiced Daily 5-Read to self once again I chose each students' spot. Next week we will dive into focus lessons on picking good-fit books, and choosing our own spots.

We ended our day with some painting. Grade 1's got to discover that mixing red and yellow make orange, blue and red make purple and blue and yellow make green. Grade 2's reinforced their learning from last year.

Students used their newfound knowledge to do a cute fish painting.
