Our agenda message today was "Make an ABC pattern tonight."
This morning, students continued to work on their French cut and paste school words activity.
After little recess, we continued with our HRTS presentation. We also listened to our Tolerance song and we listened to a new Responsibility song. As each presentation, and song is completed, students are becoming more verbal and understanding of our school-wide expectations.
Following HRTS the class practiced decoding complicated patterns, and creating their own patterns. I strongly encourage you to practice these patterns at home as well by using little snacks, OR using the Math Grade 1 / Math Grade 2 games on my website!
We continued to learn about being a good citizen in Religion. We began by re-reading the story of the Good Samaritan from a children's book, thanks to one of our students who brought the book. We then deepened our understanding of good citizenship (particularly in the classroom) by making and presenting skits!
This afternoon the class practiced their Read to Self behaviors, continuing to increase their stamina. We then did an activity to help reinforce our words of the week: the, am, I, can, see.
Students enjoyed gym with Mme Harting.
The class learnt about our composting worms..
Finally, Grade 2's ended their day with Writers Workshop (they wrote about their favorite thing about today) and Grade 1's read a poem about a playground, and then learnt to sound out words that they don't know how to write! Finally, they wrote in their books: I can see _________.
