Our agenda message today is 'Bring your library books tomorrow'.

This morning students had listened to a story about a zoo. They then did some zoo writing of their own; using all the knowledge they have in French, and using the word walls to refer. I am very proud of the progress they have made so far! Afterwards, we practiced our song for the volunteer picnic.

After small recess, students played some math games, one of which is called Doubles hopping. Using a ten sided die, they rolled, doubled it, and filled a chart (practicing their doubles). Afterwards, we reviewed as a class the addition strategies we can use: doubles and using a number line to count up. We moved on to a subtraction game, where students placed from 13-20 double sided chips inside of a brown paper bag, they would then pull out a certain number, and determine how many were left in the bag.

Students then listened to our star of the week present their poster.

This afternoon, we enjoyed our ice cream outside (earned, because we won the Holy Childhood Association Fundraiser competition). This counted as our Daily Physical Activity.

Upon our return to the classroom, we completed our Daily 5, followed by an afternoon message, and some ice cream themed writing... Many students wrote about an ice cream monster, and some students began to write all about ice cream!

To end our day, we learnt about the gifts of the Holy Spirit.
