This morning students wrote: "Scholastic book orders due tomorrow." in their agendas.

Grade 1's brought home new French animal flashcards... A reminder that you can find a video of me saying the names of all the flashcards under the "français" tab on my website.

Grade 1's were tested on their sight word throughout the morning.

Since we followed the Friday schedule, we completed our regular morning routine: Daily 5, morning message and calendar. Then the grade 2's finished writing their French story plans, then they began writing the story. Grade 1's had fun drawing silly animals with a variety of different body parts. They then needed to write about their animal in French, describing the body parts and why they chose that adaptation.

After little recess and snack, the class had fun guessing "who is the baby" (grade 1 project), then they split up into stations.

Grade 1's had 3 stations, one of which was using the program "30 hands" to present and identify some physical changes that occurred to them during early childhood. The second was to use the ipads to research information on an animal-this will be an animal research project used for English, and the third was to practice their addition and subtraction skills on Prodigy.

Grade 2's also had 3 stations. They used the Ipads to find out information about insects. They worked in their science notebooks to identify whether or not certain critters were insects or not, and why, finally they also practiced addition and subtraction skills up to 100 with Prodigy.

After lunch, big recess and daily 5, the class worked on the final touch for our volunteer appreciation presentation... which forced us to collaborate with classmates!!

We ended our day with practicing our final presentation.
