This morning students wrote: "Sign and return permission form" in their agendas. The permission form is on the permission slips page. Please have the Christmas bag permission form sent back to school as soon as possible.
Today, the class read to self in French. I have now read with all of the grade 1 students in French, and therefore they will be bringing home 2 French books a day, in addition to their English books. Parents, please remember that the best way to help your child in their French reading endeavors is to listen! Please know that I do not expect your child to read all four books a night, as doing sight words, a little bit of math and reading a book (English or French) will exceed the suggested 15 minutes of "homework" time.
The class participated to our calendar time.
Grade 1's were asked to finish writing about their little people marionnettes. Grade 2's finished their writing plan, and some began writing the "finished" copy.
We began to learn about certain hockey skills in the gym.
After small recess and snack, the grade 1's finished making all of the different combinations of the number I gave them yesterday, still using chips. Grade 2's began to learn about Meteghan-our first community of three.
The class exchanged their library books-AND they were able to participate to the learning common in the library.
Mlle Timmer introduced the class to coding, we learned about algorithms (steps) and how we use coding on a daily basis.
This afternoon, the class was able to use their chromebooks to practice coding, and there was a code activity that required the use of N/E/S/W directions.
To end the day, we talked about bullies, and what we can do to prevent it. We also spoke about our actions, and how it takes 10 good actions to fix 1 bad one.
