This morning students wrote: "Work on my reading log" in their agendas or "Read for 10 minutes tonight" if they were done in their reading log, and wished to write an alternative message.

The class was very quiet and on task this morning during French daily 5.

With our morning message, we practiced chopping French words into more readable chunks. The students were reminded that you cannot split up combos, and that you must put a line after a vowel or a combo, before a consonant, to split it properly: for example re/li/gion or ma/thé/ma/ti/que/s

We completed our calendar time, and then read a French winter themed book.

Grade 1's were then asked to do a cutting and gluing clothing activity, during which time grade 2 students learned about the verbes être and avoir, and how to conjugate them in the present with je (I)... Je suis (verbe: être) J'ai (verbe avoir). Students were asked to write a few sentences correctly using j'ai and je suis (J'ai 7 ans... Je suis un garçon)

After small recess and snack, we practiced our mental math strategies. We also reviewed place value. Learning how we can use base ten blocs to complete different addition questions. Students also practiced flipping the question strategy.. ____-4=2 FLIP to, 2+4=6

We continued to learn about Jesus' life as a boy.

This afternoon, the class completed a round of daily 5. Following this we learned how to use google slides, and the students began to prepare their own google presentation about a topic that interests them.
