Tuesday February 28th 2017

This morning students wrote: "Ash Wednesday celebration tomorrow at 2pm" in their agendas.

We completed a round of French daily 5 followed by our morning message and calendar time. Afterwards, the class was asked to write a complete sentence using the new "sentence ideas" page in our dictionaries.

The class had a small snack before going to gym to practice some winterball skills (throwing and catching)

After little recess, the grade 1's went to ESSMY for snack, when they returned they played some math games in Mme Pamela's classroom or Mme Ruel's classroom. 

Grade 2's continued to learn about what Iqualuit looks like, and then we began to discuss the days of the week, and how identifying the days of the week may help us to solve certain problems. Then the grade 2's went and had pancakes at ESSMY!

The whole class came back together again for library.

After lunch and big recess, students completed a round of daily 5. We read our afternoon message about un-necessary details (like describing your shirt, when the color isn't an important thing), and then continued to write our stories.

We reviewed a few of the "being a good friend" facts we discussed yesterday-allowing others to play with you at recess, listening to your classmates suggestions etc.

Then in religion we learned about lenten promises, and attempted to make our own.

We forgot to count our bâtons, so we will make sure to do it on Thursday!!
