Our message today is 'Practice English sight words'.
Students were lucky to have a guest teacher do some DANCEPL3Y with them! Plenty of fun for everyone!
When we returned to class, students participated to de-coding the calendar message (looking for combo sounds and words that go with the pictures) afterwards, they practiced their oral French about the past, present and future. Yesterday I... Today I.... Tomorrow I will...
After small recess, students completed their mother's day gifts.
In Social Studies we brainstormed life changes and started working on our timelines.
We had a lockdown shortly after big recess.
In English we learnt that many non-fiction books have labelled diagrams. We learnt that they can use labelled diagrams to help your reader understand the different parts of an object. By now, I hope that your child can approach their non-fiction writing thinking of both their topic and the form of genre in which they will write.
In math we learned about adding and subtracting with the number 9. We learned that you need to 'borrow one' from the other number in order to make 10. Practicing this at home will help your child to better understand this common strategy.
