Our agenda message today is 'Practice English sight words'.
A reminder that there are two permission slips due tomorrow.
In Gym we played a variety of ball handling games that are lead-up games for soccer. The kids did an excellent job at controlling and handling the ball.
Once back in the classroom we completed our calendar time, followed by practicing our presentation for the volunteer tea tomorrow. Students continued to work on their farm writing.
In math we continued to practice the Use an Addition to help Subtract strategy... Subtraction always seems to be a bit trickier for students than addition. However, if students know their addition facts, they can use them to help solve those tricky subtractions. For instances, if a student knows that 5+5=10, they should also know that 10-5=10.
We played a game where students rolled two ten sided die, then had to add the numbers together. They then needed to find the corresponding subtraction.
Afterwards, we began a fun project for our school time capsule about where we will be in 25 years (this is when the capsule is slated to be opened).
This afternoon students began writing the BEST WRITING EVER!!!!! Once their stamina for ideas, and patience was exhausted, we moved on to the second part of our fun school time capsule project. We wrote about where we will be and what we will be doing in 25 years.
