This morning students wrote: "Check out Scholastic magazine." in their agenda's.
Students completed a round of French Daily 5, decoded the morning message and participated to calendar time.
Grade 1's were asked to write in their French books something they saw at the zoo, found interesting and why... Then they were able to record themselves.
Grade 2's completed a review sheet of all they know about magnets... The only magnetic metals are steel (acier) and iron (fer), and that two opposite poles attract and similar poles repel. Students then used this information sheet to guide a small "all about magnets" presentation using Seesaw.
After little recess and snack, grade 2's practiced addition and subtraction questions using the algorithmic method, while grade 1's reviewed and practiced near doubles using two ten frames. Grade 1's were asked to represent 7+8, and then show how 7+8 is like 7+7+1. They then went and practiced some near doubles addition questions.
In religion we learned about how Jesus is the vine and we are the branches.
We had time to continue working on our volunteer tea presentation
After lunch and big recess, the class completed a round of Daily 5, enjoyed gym with Mme Harding's substitute, and then grade 1's worked on writing, using great adjectives, about their dream meal. Grade 2's continued working on their stories.
