This morning your child wrote: "Please check your e-mail tonight." The corresponding e-mail should currently be sitting in your mailbox! In case you did not receive the contents of this e-mail, here is a second place you can always find it: https://emaunder.schoolsites.ca/newsletters
EMP students participated to our morning assembly, where we introduced "Feeding the hungry" as our act of mercy. Parlons Français' prize was not announced.
Once back in the classroom, we finished our agenda's, participated to finding the combo sounds and key words in our morning message, and completed the calendar. Students met the new combo sounds: on/om (like the word on, but drop the n) like in the classroom word: crayon.
Grade 1 students continued their numbers writing that they began on Friday, that encourages them to practice printing their numbers with letters and numerically. They needed to write a sentence following the model # classroom object color.
Grade 2 students brainstormed places in our community, and then did some writing about that place.
After small recess Grade 1 and 2 students completed their mountain letters in their printing books.
While either group was working on printing, Grade 2's continued working on growing patterns, and grade 1's began their numbers to 20 unit.
Students enjoyed music with Mme Dominique.
This afternoon Grade 1's enjoyed gym with Mme Harding's son.
Grade 2's continued to learn about hot and cold, shocking their bodies by placing their hand in freezing water, and very hot water. We discusses the differences. We then talked about what happens to water when you put it in the freezer and boil it... Hot chocolate was our learning treat.
When the Grade 1's returned we reviewed our read to self expectations, as they seem to be getting forgotten. We read our afternoon message, and ended our day with Writers Workshop.
