This morning students wrote: "Check out Thanksgiving Service Project bag" in their agendas. Not all students brought them home in our class, but one of your children will have... So check out the yellow note explaining the project :)
As per usual, we read a French morning message, and completed calendar time. Following this we read a book about the days of the week.
Grade 1's began to complete a number book (for our next math unit, numbers to 20), that encourages them to practice printing their numbers with letters and numerically. They needed to write a sentence following the model # classroom object color.
Grade 2's needed to write their own reading comprehension text: "Position, the desk there are number, object, color" they then shared their book with another partner who needed to draw the picture their friend had written.
After little recess, we celebrated one of our grade 2's special birthday with a cupcake treat.
Grade 1's continued to learn about shades of colors, today-how to make a color darker. We also revisited the primary and secondary colors.
Grade 2's continued to learn about growing patterns. This is proving to be a difficult concept to grasp, so please practice with your child at home.
The class continued to learn about our local community... We specifically spoke about St. Albert's location in the world, and what the weather is like.
This afternoon, the school participated to our annual Terry Fox run, thank you to everyone who came out to help us.
We ended the day completing our Digital Citizenship by discussing what we know about being safe online-how to be good samaritans. We also chose our own super secret usernames.
We also read the book with no pictures! BE CAREFUL PARENTS it may find its way to your home, as I've decided to lend it out :)
