This morning students wrote: "Have a great weekend!" in their agendas.

As per usual, we did our French Daily 5, followed by the morning message, and calendar time.

After reading a Winter-themed French book-which did not have an ending, grade 2's were instructed to write the ending of the story! IF our endings are good, we may ask Mme Lina to add it to the library book for others to read. Grade 1's continued to work on writing about what they are wearing that they started Tuesday.

Students went outside for little recess today.

After snack, we practiced telling and answering math addition and subtraction stories. Students then learned that you can flip an equation to make it easier to answer: 12+1=13 is the same as 13-1=12. Afterwards they practiced answering math addition or subtraction questions that had an unknown variable, unknown answer, or unknown action. This was a good test to know which kids understood flipping an equation.

Before big recess, we began painting the background of our art project. Students needed to paint the dark night sky, and mix in white to progressively create a moonlit night-sky. I am very impressed with the results!

After big recess, in order to give the paint additional time to dry, the class completed a round of Daily 5.

Students drew a winter tree above their background painting, to give the perspective that the moon is far un the sky and behind the tree. They then had fun splatering white paint above their project to add a snowy finish. The also added a small cardinal and Snowflakes-this may be our Art fair project! We will see if next week's project is better or not!

We ended our day with Daily Physical Activity in the classroom.

Have a great weekend!
