This morning our students wrote the message: "Teddy Bear picnic on Monday." This is because the grade 1 group has been working so well and quietly, that to reward their awesome behavior they may bring a teddy bear Monday! We will eat our lunch and snack with our teddy's.

Afterwards, we had a very strong discussion regarding our expectations during recess time. Due to recent incidents with student injuries, I asked the class to become my 'spies' and keep an eye out for any bad and unsafe behavior outside, after recess, they checked in with me, and we finally had one recess without incidents.

Students then helped me identify the who from a book, in preparation for a story writing activity. We then finished our wonderful chutes and ladders activity.

After small recess, we checked in with our Daily 5, completed our world circle in social studies, and compared our 'Me' circle with our 'World' circle. To end the day, we listened to the story of the Prodigal Son, discussing how the father forgave his son regarding his mistake, just as how we need to forgive in our every day life.

Enjoy the weekend everyone!
