This morning students wrote: "Ask me about the game: Prodigy." in their agendas.

Students began their day by participating to a round of French Daily 5, decoding the morning message, and calendar time (led by a grade 2 student).

Afterwards, the class received a new spring-time French vocabulary page that they added to their dictionaries, they found the combo sounds, we read and defined the words on the page as a class, and then students were asked to make a complete sentence using one of the words.

In gym, we enjoyed being led through flowing yoga movements with Mme Parkes.

After little recess and snack, the grade 1's learned about living and non-living things, we defined that something living has needs that need to be fulfilled in order to survive, whereas a non-living thing does not. Grade 1's did a cut and sort activity.

Grade 2's were given a list of objects and they were asked to predict whether or not their object would be magnetic, they then tested the object. This is where we officially learned that objects which are magnetic are metals, but not all metals are magnetic, only steel and iron.

In religion, we learned about what Jesus did in Jerusalem on the Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of Holy Week. On Monday, Jesus went to his Father's house, and was upset to see that people were using it as a place to make money and not to pray, so he "overturned tables", and then began to solve his problem by teaching the people.

We exchanged our library books

After lunch and big recess students completed a round of Daily 5, then they were introduced to the awesome math game: Prodigy! I hope you check it out... A reminder to let your child try the questions all by themselves before swooping in and saving the day :)
