Monday April 3rd 2017

This morning students wrote: "Check e-mail for April newsletter." in their agendas.

Unlike most Mondays, we did not have an assembly this morning, instead, we started off our day with a round of Daily 5, followed by the morning message, then we were able to participate to the Criss Cross Ministries Retreat: "Love in action". Students enjoyed the interactive play (the story of creation) done by the Criss Cross team.

After little recess and snack, students shared some of the April Fool's jokes they played on their family members. Then we talked about our "Francophonie Week" project: the play-Jack and the beanstalk (in French). Students were very excited! They each received a copy of the play, highlighted the combo sounds, crossed out the silent letters, and underlined the soft c's and g's. Then we read the play out loud.

Students enjoyed music with Mme Dominique.

After lunch and big recess, grade 1 students went to gym with Mme Harding, while the grade 2's had fun testing out magnets. We talked about things that are magnetic and non-magnetic, we also discussed that certain metals (steel and iron) are magnetic.

When the grade 1's returned, students completed a round of Daily 5.

We recapitulated what the Criss Cross team taught us in the morning, then students drew what they understood of the story of creation. We especially reviewed that God created all these things, because He loves us.
