This morning students wrote: "Work on my reading log tonight." So far I have received 3 reading logs, keep them coming!
After French daily 5 and morning message, grade 2's continued to work on their "avoir et être" booklet, continuing to practice using it properly depending on whom you are talking about (je, tu, il, nous, vous, ils). Grade 1's learned about what kinds of foods are healthy, and which are not healthy.
Students enjoyed some tag games in the gym (unfortunately the stereo system was not working, so we couldn't do dance)
After little recess and snack, grade 1's worked together to place their urban community on a large piece of construction paper, they also added things they realized almost every urban community has to have (church, streetlights, signs and a library)
Grade 2 students were given one final block to add/make final changes to their boats. They have learned a lot about which materials float/sink/are waterproof, and this ensured growth and improvement in their abilities as a problem solver and learner. To complete the unit, we will be building a new kind of floating device on Thursday!
At the library today, students did not exchange books, because Mme Lina must complete inventory. Students did receive a pamphlet for the scholastic book fair next week.
This afternoon, the class completed a round of daily 5, then we read our afternoon message (which was riddled with punctuation mistakes).
Using the Chromebooks, grade two's did some days of the week and months of the year work, while the grade 1's practiced their punctuation skills using a new game under my English tab on my website.
