This morning students wrote: "We have library tomorrow." in their agendas. Don't forget those books! I believe that next week we will have the chance to go to the library, but only to look at the scholastic set-up, so this is the last week for books.
The class participated to the assembly, our 5 grade 1 and 2 students that read the prayer did a fantastic job!
Students completed a round of French Daily 5, followed by the morning message (continued our story from last week) and calendar time.
Grade 2 students worked on their spelling words from a few weeks ago (ensuite, entend, quand, dans, grand). Grade 1 students worked together to brainstorm the names of many fruits and vegetables, they then wrote in their French books about what is in their lunch box.
Students enjoyed recess (outside!) and snack.
In mathematics, grade 1's practiced identifying groups of 10, and counting by groups of 10. Grade 2's learned about the measurement of length. We discussed how to measure correctly, and then we practiced measuring and comparing measures (using a non-standard unit ex. string)
Students had fun in Music with Mme Dominique.
While the grade 1's were away for gym, grade 2's learned about people of the Iqaluit community who were important for its development.
The class completed a round of Daily 5, then they continued to write in their story books.
