This morning students wrote: "Have an amazing weekend!" in their agendas.

First thing today, we completed our round of French daily 5, followed by the calendar message, then one of our grade 2's lead us through the calendar document.

Afterwards, we began to read a story: "Mlle Charlotte" which is a French novel about a teacher that is very special and different, who encourages her students to be themselves.

In French the class received a new page for their dictionnary. This new page teaches them to use more detail in their sentences: "Hier je suis allé à West Edmonton Mall pour acheter des livres." (when, who, what, where why) this will encourage your child to write using more details, and all by themselves.

After snack, and little recess, we completed our art cards art project (we borrowed Mme Ruel's paints, so we had to do art earlier in the day).

After lunch and big recess, we completed a round of daily 5. Then we revisited the story plan we had started yesterday, and we talked about going back to it and making changes. Then the class was asked to do so, and even begin to write their exciting story beginning.

In Sciences, grade 2's were given their boats and buoyancy challenge-the letter was sent home, and an email was also sent to clarify. Your child had the chance to plan what they wanted to build, and decide what materials were needed.

Grade 1's were given the challenge to build goldilocks a bed, using only popsicle sticks, paper towel rolls and glue.
