This morning Grade 1 students wrote: "Have a great weekend!" in their agendas, while grade 2 students wrote: "Science liquids project is due on Monday.". Grade 2 students also brought home their Meteghan workbooks-take the time to read through it with your child, to really see what they learned.

After our French daily 5, morning message, and calendar time, grade 2's had a Social Studies evaluation on Meteghan-everyone did a fantastic job! Grade 1's worked with a partner to brainstorm all of the places they like in St. Albert, they then selected one, and added it to their social studies circles project.

Recess and snack came and went, the class completed an addition and subtraction evaluation (this is not the final evaluation, it is so that I can put out some feelers).

Since the 100th day of school is approaching quickly, in order to reduce some "100th day worries" we read the book: 100th Day Worries!!! I explained to the class that their job would be to create a poster with 100 objects on it (just like in the book), displayed in groups of 10 (Grade 1) or 5 (Grade 2). The students were reassured that it does not matter what objects they choose, as long as they can bring it to school! Have fun making your 100th day posters!!

In religion, we continued to learn that we can help to heal the sick by taking the time to be with them, pray with them and love them.

This afternoon, students completed a round of Daily 5, afterwards we continued to work on our stuffy descriptions. Finally, I read each student's writing, and everyone needed to guess who's stuffy the writing belonged with. It was very fun to hear the descriptive words some students chose to use, and how it truly made their writing much more specific, interesting and exciting to read.

We ended our day with some Valentines day art. Each student traced their hand on a piece of paper, and then cut out the hand, they were then asked to write a small valentines day message to anyone who contributes to the EMP community (parent's, teachers, administration, SIGIS, volunteers etc.) These were posted among the hearts on our bulletin board.
