Tuesday January 31st 2017

This morning students wrote: "Practice telling addition and subtraction stories." in their agendas. Afterwards, they completed a round of French daily 5.

Today's morning message talked about the weather, and we took this opportunity to review the recess rules (playing on ice, slidding down the hill head first etc.). Then, one of our grade 1 students lead us through the calendar document.

Grade 1's finished the descriptive writing that they've been working on for the past few days.

The grade 2's rediscussed what a natural resource is, they then learned about goods in Meteghan (Goods are often made from natural resources, Meteghan makes boats, doors and windows from the trees).

After little recess and snack, Grade 2's were introduced to their Meteghan tourism project. They were asked to write down 5 things about Meteghan that are really interesting, and that they think people would want to know. Students began to plan their presentation. Grade 1's completed a sense of touch cut and paste activity, where they looked at a picture, and decided the texture of the object, and placed it in the corresponding column.

In mathematics, the class was given time to continue practicing the make ten strategy.

Students exchanged their library books.

This afternoon, students completed a round of Daily 5. We then had the chromebooks, and the class was able to continue to work on creating a google slides with a topic that interests them (Pokémon, swimming, hokey, dance etc.)

We ended our day with our "Parlons Français" prize. Students were asked to count how many French "Bâtons" they received, and depending on their amount, were able to get a prize from the prize box.
