This morning students wrote: "Please check your e-mail tonight." in their agendas.

In French, we practiced using our clothing words, describing what we should wear when it is cold outside, tomorrow we will begin writing.

We had gym in the classroom today-relays with rubber chickens-plenty of fun.

After small indoor recess and snack, in Math, we created a doubles anchor chart, with pictures (eyes for 1+1, a dog for 2+2 (2 legs at the front, 2 at the back) a muffin tin for 3+3, a spider for 4+4, hands for 5+5, a dozen eggs for 6+6, two weeks for 7+7, a box of pencil crayons for 8+8, a domino for 9+9, and two tenth blocs for 10+10. We then listened to le rap des doubles song on my math grade 1 or math grade 2 webpages... It is a fun song that will help your child to remember their doubles!

Following this, students played some good "double" math games with dice. Students rolled a die, and said: double ______ est ________. We then had a good discussion as to why knowing your doubles is important. Please watch this video:  Teaching the Use-Doubles Strategy for Addition to help you understand the validity of this strategy.

5 students presented their HRTS posters.

The class exchanged their books at the library.

This afternoon, we reviewed the Daily 5 expectations... We then did a round of Daily 5.

After our afternoon message, students used google classroom to write their New Years Resolutions! Sounds like your child is planning on being a little more responsible than usual!
