This morning students wrote "Ask me about using chromebooks" in their agendas.

The class participated to decoding our morning message, they also welcomed the new sounds: ou and é to our French sounds. We also learned the words: qui, que, le, la and ici. A lot of emphasis and encouragement was put into remembering that we need to pay attention to all of the letters, and especially the vowels in our words. We also began to talk about the soft c... We will revisit this tomorrow.

We enjoyed practicing some soccer skills in the gym.

After small recess, both the grade 1's and 2's learned/revisited the hidden ten strategy. For example, the number 13 is 10 plus 3... the ten is hidden within the 13. Grade 2's practiced using a number line as well as skip counting. Grade 1's began their number of the day booklet, learning about 10 grids, tallies and dice!

The class exchanged their library books.

This afternoon students were able to use their chromebooks for the first time! The class practiced their logins and logouts many times, they then had the chance to explore my website, especially the math games.

What a nice and easy day today! With PLENTY of math learning :)
