This morning students wrote "We have library tomorrow." in their agendas.

First thing this morning students participated to an assembly, where we wished a happy birthday to all of our EMP friends for this week. The division 1 (grades 1-3) students stayed in the gym with Mme Giesbrecht, Mme Dominique and Mme Harding to talk about Recess Agreement, Pokemon and other little things, while their teachers received technology-based training. It was decided that students are allowed to bring their pokemon cards, but they are not allowed to make any trades, as many students trade unfairly, and it causes hurt feelings.

Once back in the classroom we read our morning message, and talked about the library books for tomorrow. We also decided, as a class, that if we fill our "Parlons Français" French container by the end of this week, we will have a pyjama day on Friday October 28th.

After little recess, grade 1's completed some math writing. Grade 2's began to practice using 100 grids, finding patterns in skip counting and solving skip counting problems.

The class enjoyed music with Mme Dominique.

This afternoon Grade 1's had fun in gym with Mme Harding. Grade 2's did their spelling test. On Friday, I will send their spelling test home. It is very important that you sign and return the spelling book on Monday, as we practice our spelling words in our book throughout the week. If you forget to return the spelling book, your child will need to complete the daily work as homework.

After our spelling test, we reviewed the different states of water (steam, water and ice also hot-cold). Afterwards we discussed what we use to measure temperature.

When the grade 1's returned, we read to self and 6 chosen students read to partner.

Following this, we looked for our combo's in the afternoon message. We learned a new combo sound: ch. We also met some new words of the week: do, has, and, you, what. Generally I choose the words and sounds of the week according to the words that the class is not spelling correctly, or frequently using.

We ended our day with Writers Workshop.
