This morning grade 1 students wrote: "Practice new French flashcards." in their agendas. Please check out my Français page on my website... Look for the video titled "Les mots de la salle de classe."

Grade 2 students wrote: "Read a French book to mom or dad". Listen to your child! Ask them questions, see what they understood from their French book, allow them to be the teacher!

First thing this morning the grade 2 students were brought into the gym with Mme Harding.

Grade 1's learnt a song to introduce what they would pick out of a backpack. This allowed your child to practice their French classroom objects vocabulary before it was sent home!

When the Grade 2's returned, we completed our calendar time, followed by a reading comprehension activity for the Grade 2's and an autumn reading activity for Grade 1's.

After recess, we continued to learn about patterns, specifically fixing broken patterns.

I had to leave for two blocks as I was receiving mentorship, and Class 1/2C had the joy of receiving my mother as their substitute. She continued digital citizenship with the class-where they learnt about online communities (blogs, Facebook etc,)

This afternoon we completed a round of read to self, we went outside to pick TWO carrots to help us "feed the hungry"- one carrot to eat and one carrot for the foodbank. A HUGE thank you to our Grade 2 parent who came and helped with the garden!

Once back in the classroom we talked about why we picked the garden, who it's going to, and the class commented on the carrots and how they tasted "better than candy!!"

Students ended their day in Music with Mme Dominique.
