This morning students wrote: "Please check e-mail tonight." in their agendas. As promised the e-mail was sent off shortly after the end of the day bell.

This morning the class practiced the vocabulary c'est by playing "I spy" and using c'est to describe whether their object was big or little.

We then went outside for gym and learnt how to play the playground game "four square".

After little we listened to the fire drill bell.

In social studies students began to learn about themselves. Who are they in relation to the world? What makes them special. Students then colored in a little person and drew pictures that showed how they are different-unique. We then read a book about different children in different schools within the world, and how things all the way over there are different than in our school.

Once our social studies were completed we read the book "My mouth is a volcano" and began to talk about shouting out answers without raising your hand and interrupting, and why it is not okay... We practiced: breathing out your answer/thought quietly, then when it's your turn to talk, breathe in your answer/thought and share.

After big recess we reviewed our words of the week... We listened to the "at" family song . We ALSO learnt a new combo sound: or. Whenever  the o and r are together they make the OR OR OR sound (like a sea lion).

Students then transitioned into Writers Workshop to end our day... our mini lesson of revolved around: when you're done, you've only just begun!! Meaning, when you're done writing, go back and add to the pictures, then add to the words, and finally start a new piece. Students put into practice our mini-lesson.
