This morning your child wrote: "Check out Scholastic magazine" in his/her agenda. The corresponding magazine is in their pochette.
First thing today, both the grade levels worked on decoding our morning message, highlighting sounds and finding magic c's. I strongly encourage you to have your child do the same before reading their books at home.
Grade 1's then began to put together their little people. Grade 2's continued to work on describing their monsters.
The class enjoyed some scooter games in the gym.
After small recess, we had a class discussion about respecting other students who do not wish to participate to certain games, for example-chasing games. We also took some time to resolve friend problems
Once our conversation was completed Grade 2's needed to show me how they could protect themselves from heat, and the cold.
Grade 1's learned about representing numbers in many different ways, particularly learning that you can make two parts of a number.
The class exchanged their library books.
This afternoon, we did our regular read to self and read to a partner.
Both grade 1's and 2's finished their "Halloween Writing" and had the chance to practice typing with the typing game.
We ended our day with health, learning about how we each have a special talent that we should be proud of. It is important that we do not "wish" to be someone else.
