This morning students wrote: "Check out June newsletter" in their agendas. The newsletter has been sent home, and you can always find additional copies under the classroom newsletters tab on my website.
After Daily 5, morning message and calendar time, grade 2 students worked on some addition questions that required them to use the make ten strategy, while the grade 1's wrote a collective beginning and middle for a story, they then worked individually on writing the end.
In gym, Mme Harding-Kuriger explained to the class how the triathlon would work for the swimmers, bikers and runners, and then we had some time to play some running games in the gym.
After little recess and snack, students showed what kind of strategy they would use to solve some addition and subtraction questions. Then the grade 2 students began to work on writing a French story, while grade 1's learned about fact families (10, 8, 2 are a family-you can do 10-2=8, 10-8=2, 2+8=10, 8+2=10)
Students exchanged their books at library.
After lunch, big recess and daily 5, students continued to work on their English story plans, and began their English writing.
