This morning students wrote: "Reading log reward is tomorrow" in their agendas.
Daily 5, morning message and calendar were very smooth and energetic today.
Grade 1's finished their Social Studies belonging project-we will discuss it more in depth tomorrow.
Grade 2's began to learn about Iqualuit, and its location on the map.
Students enjoyed some curling themed games in the gym.
After indoor recess, and snack, two of our grade two students presented their liquids project.
In math, we practiced reading, thinking, drawing and writing as a math strategy for word problems. FIRST I read the question, then I think... Then I can draw what I understand, and finally I write my answer.
Students exchanged their library books.
Back in the classroom, students continued to practice math word problems.
After lunch and big recess (indoors round 2) we completed a round of daily 5. We read our afternoon message, and met the new combo: AR (Like a pirate)
With the chromebooks, the class finished their non-fiction presentations.
