This morning students wrote: "Ask me about my google slides presentation."

We started our day with a quick round of Daily 5, followed by the decoding of our morning message, and calendar time. Then we played a number game which helped us practiced saying our numbers from 50-79 in French correctly. We read a spring-themed book, and finally the grade 1's finished writing about their silly fruit and vegetable people, while the grade 2's began to write the draft of their story.

After little recess and snake (featuring a delicious birthday frozen Tubes yogurt snack) the grade 1's completed their measurement evaluation, while the grade 2's made Iqaluit-themed cootie catchers for fun.

Then the grade 1's practiced the addition strategy "make ten" because now we are back on the addition and subtraction unit up to 20!

The grade 2's learned about how compasses work. Because the compass needle is magnetized and is therefore attracted to the magnetic field the earth produces.

The class enjoyed some Daily Physical Activity in the form of dance.

After big recess, lunch and Daily 5, students worked on writing a good copy of their non-fiction story on google slides. We will continue on Thursday.
