This morning students wrote: ''Practice skip counting by 2's, 5's, 10's in French" in their agendas. This is a skill that they will re-visit in grade 2 and 3! Continue the work over the summer too...

Students read quietly in French for 15 minutes, and then we decoded our message and completed calendar time.

We discussed safety at the pool and how everyone will need to agree on where they are swimming.

We had a snack before walking to the pool.

Students enjoyed an hour of swimming... THANK YOU parent volunteers for helping with keeping our children safe.

We returned to school and had another little snack.

In mathematics, students described the characteristics of 3-D objects and 2-D shapes, and analyzed the relationships among them. For 2D shapes, we can describe them as having corners and sides. 3D shapes we can describe them based on their movement, how many faces they have, les sommets (corners), arrêtes (sides) courbes (curbs). We also learned that 3D shapes are MADE OUT OF 2D shapes.

After lunch and big recess, grade 1's worked on writing about their tree in the summer time in their Science journals, while grade 2's learned about Natural Ressources in Saskatoon and how these natural ressources are what choose the kinds of jobs people have in that city.

Students enjoyed gym with Mme Harding.

When students returned to class, we prepared to go home... We reviewed what really great audiences and listeners do, and then we enjoyed 3A's class play.
