This morning grade 1 students wrote: "Practice the numbers 60-100 in French." in their agendas, while grade 2 students wrote: "Practice the months of the year in French." in their agendas.

While the grade 2's were away for gym, grade 1 students listened to the book "Town mouse, country mouse" allowing us to continue to compare the two communities. They then finished the work they began last week on urban and rural communities, identifying a community by what they see. The students also began to learn about mapping, understanding that you maps are a view from the sky. The students were asked to identify whether or not a community was urban or rural from the birds eye view (maps!)

When the grade 2's returned, we completed one quick round of Daily 5 in French, then we decoded and read our afternoon message (French story continued!) One of our grade 2 students led us through the calendar.

Grade 1 students continued to write their full sentences while grade 2 students continued to practice using the verbes "être" and "avoir".

After indoor recess and snack, we completed a second round of Daily 5.

Grade 1's did a final "urban and rural communities" evaluation, while grade 2's practiced the months of the year in French.

Grade 1's then practiced skip counting by 10's in French.

In religion, we continued to discuss lent as a time to come close to God and Jesus.

This afternoon, we began to create an editor's checklist (to create more detailed and proper stories), and then we continued working on our stories.

We ended our day with Mme Dominique in Music.
