This morning students wrote: "Wear a pink shirt tomorrow." in their agendas. Wearing the pink shirt is to symbolize that you do not tolerate bullying-We will be having a very thorough discussion about this tomorrow.

After completing a round of French Daily 5 then decoding our morning message, where we focused on finding the combos ain, aim, ein-the sound a hockey buzzer makes- and ien (add the i (like a mouse) sound before the buzzer), and being led through our calendar document by a grade 1 student. We practiced skip counting by 2's, 5's, 10's.

In gym, we were taught the sport of Winterball!

After little recess and snack, grade 1's and 2's did a "near doubles" math activity. We talked about how numbers like 9+7 are almost a double (8+8) and that we need to recognize them quickly in our math books. We also practiced our near doubles with Dominoes.

Students exchanged their library books.

After lunch and big recess, students completed a round of Daily 5...

We then used the Chromebooks to complete a fun Seesaw project. Students were asked to select their favorite French book and take a picture of the cover. They then had to use the voice recording tool to read the story! Afterwards, students listened to their story, then uploaded the video to the "Reading in French" folder. I asked the class to place the book they read into a bin titled: "Seesaw". Your child will now be able to select one of the "Seesaw" books for their nightly reading AND  they can login to Seesaw and read with their classmate!

*I made a mistake about our Grade 5 visit... They will be coming tomorrow!*
