This morning students wrote "Ask me about using Seesaw" in their agendas. This is a form of classroom, that allows the class to be able to take pictures, make audio-clips, write and draw. It is under the computers tab on my website. You can access our classroom by using this code:   I will only open the website from 5:30-5:45, and again from 8:30-8:45, as I would like for your child to become an expert with using it, before giving them permanent access! Thankfully, I must approve anything they wish to post, before it can become public (to their classroom friends).

First thing today the grade 1's went to music with Mme Dominique and the other grade 1 students, during which time the grade 2's continued to learn about Meteghan. Today we discussed about what we wrote last week: "If I went to Meteghan, I would..." We then looked at a map to see the distance between Meteghan and Edmonton. The class was then asked to think of the quickest way to get there (flying) and then they used their mapping skills to be able to identify which routes to take once our plane would land in Halifax NS (Go from Halifax to Digby to Meteghan). Once our conversation about how to get there was complete, we looked at the weather network to find out what we should wear in Meteghan at this time of year. Students were then asked to draw clothes onto two people templates, they needed to draw 2 different outfits, one for the flight/drive there, and the other for the current weather: 5 degrees and raining.

When the grade 1's returned, the class participated to decoding our morning message, special focus was placed in finding the en/em (like hunh?? in English but without the h sound) sound.

Following this, we did a round of read to self/read to a partner and listen to a story in French.

Before recess we went to the gym and learned about playing ringette, we had fun playing a kind of pirate game, which taught the class to use stealing skills.

After small recess and snack, grade 2's finished drawing the clothes on their Meteghan people.

Grade 1's worked on completing their numbers up to 20 unit. We brainstormed all of the different ways to represent a number, and they showed me their skills.

The class went to the library to exchange their books.

After library Grade 1's went for a second music lesson with the other grade 1 classes, while the grade 2's wrapped up our hot and cold science unit. We spent time talking about how the weather will affect our clothing, and how the seasons are an example of hot and cold. They brought home their booklets which are meant for you to keep.

This afternoon the class went through their daily 5 routine. Then they began to learn about using seesaw with the chromebooks. They were asked to take a picture of themselves with a friend, and then they needed to identify physical characteristics that make themselves both similar to and different from others, and describe personal body image in FRENCH. It was very fun to watch the kids enjoy speaking French. We will continue to use Seesaw next week!

That's all for tomorrow.
