Terribly sorry about the late posts.
Tuesday students had a blast with their sub: Mme Simpatico.
They wrote: "Practice English Sight Words" in their agendas.
With Mme Simpatico, students reviewed what they knew about healthy meals. What kinds of foods do we need on our plate to eat healthy? Using the grocery store flyers, students cut out different foods that they would want/need on their plate for a healthy lunch or supper, and glued them on to a piece of paper. This led them into a writing activity for Wednesday.
After small recess, students were introduced to their next Math unit: Measurement. Students had the opportunity to mesure length in the classroom. Using a referent (straw) they compared it to different objects using the vocabulary: ________est (plus long/plus court) que __________.
Students enjoyed Music with Mme Dominique
Upon their return, students had a wonderful discussion in Religion about how sometimes, when people die in our lives, symbols are left behind that represent them. For example; when Jesus died, he left the cross as a symbol to remind us of him.
In the afternoon, students continued working on their fiction stories. They exchanged their library books, and ended off the day with some Daily Physical Activities outside!
