Wednesday January 6th 2016

This morning's agenda message was "Review Sight Words!" because sight words testing is tomorrow!

We started off our morning with an agenda message about a person wearing certain clothing for the snow, we then received our dictionary page and highlighted all of the sounds for the words on the page! We then had loads of fun as we did a fashion show about "what we were wearing today!" The class had a hoot! *NOTE* this could be a great game you could play at home when you receive your french flashcards, ask your child to describe what they're wearing as if it was a fashion show :)

We moved on to creating some more math stories, and we continued practicing two parts make a whole "Partie, Partie, Tout"

We then discussed the word "communauté" what is a community?? This was a tough question to answer! We will continue exploring it as the week goes along! Please keep on sending in those pictures of your child in front of their favorite place in St. Albert!

I would like to let all of you know of a system that we have been doing in the classroom to regulate sound. It is called BRUIT (noise) The B stands for 15 minutes, the R ten minutes, the U 5 minutes the I 2 minutes and the T 1 minute. If I find that the class volume is too loud, I take away the T, and they lose 1 minute of recess, if it persists, the I and they lose 2, and so on and so forth. The class seems to be responding well to the system, however they have been losing some recess time. Today they lost 2 minutes of big recess.

After big recess, we did some read to self and had an afternoon message! We have decided that Monday will be a WHISPER day, where we get to whisper and be very quiet in the school all day (with the exception of Gym, Music and Recess) hopefully this gets them to quiet down a little more as well!

Students exchanged library books.

We ended off our day with the creation of some Religion posters about the three magi that came to see baby Jesus!
